About Me

I am Nicholas Short, a proactive and capable 4th year Game Design student at Sheridan College, whom is a passionate self-taught programmer, with over three years of experience using object-oriented programming languages (OOP) including but not limited to, C#, Java, C++, Python, and JavaScript. I am Consistently seeking opportunities to improve my current skills or learn new ones through Game Jams, online courses, and certifications amongst other sources.

I have worked on a variety of fun 2D and 3D video game projects and have been working as a C++ Software Engineer in Toronto, Ontario since early March this year, at CAST Software. Unfortunately, all the amazing and passionate projects I have been working on at CAST are still unannounced, so there isn't much I can say or show at the moment. But, please stay tuned, and know that I am really looking forward to the release of these platforms and products. I think you're all going to love them :).

Outside of coding and designing/planning-out systems and/or architectures, I've been told I am a math geek, I also really enjoy exercising, either that be outdoors hiking or indoors at a gym. Aside from that, video games are second nature to me. I grew up with an NES, PS1, and the first Xbox, and have since purchased and enjoyed of all consoles to follow.

As much as I love playing and making games, my passion for software development goes much beyond that, as I hope and aspire to be part of and hopefully one day lead large-scale projects for one or many tech giants.
